Dear Coleytown Families,

Summer is winding down and the new school year is on the horizon. I hope that all of you enjoyed your summer adventures. I was lucky enough to go to New Hampshire for a wonderful vacation filled with kayaking, fishing, hiking, and relaxing.  I can’t wait to hear all of the children’s stories when they arrive back at CES in two weeks!

We are thrilled to welcome new staff to the Coleytown community this year.  Mrs. Liz Benz is a part time speech and language pathologist, also working at CMS.   Ms. Brooke Ogilvy will be a part time special education teacher.  Ms. Elizabeth Powers is a building intern from Fairfield University.  She will be interning in the fall and student teaching in the spring semester.  Ms. Morgan Quinn is a new building substitute teacher.  Ms. Micayla Ruggiero will be student teaching with Mrs. Rosemary Metke in the fall semester. Mrs. Jennifer Theimann will be a part time music teacher at CES.  Senora Maria Vazquez will be a Spanish teacher working at CES and GFS.  Ms. Desirae Williams will be a teacher in residence in Jame’el Lawrence’s fourth grade class.

We have some staff returning in different positions this year.  Mrs. Kim Flaherty will be our new library media paraprofessional.  Mr. Cole Davis and Mrs. Lynn McNamara are returning as regular education paraprofessionals.  Ms. Alyssa Carroll will be teaching second grade.  Ms. Cali Scott will be our full time Speech and Language pathologist.

Robin Lewis is our new PTA Co-President.  She joins Marisa Timperman as the other Co-President.  Marisa and Robin have been working extremely hard to prepare for the upcoming school year.  Thank you to both of them, and our amazing Coleytown Ambassadors, for all of the work they did this summer.

We have 25 new Coleytown families and 75 new kindergarten students this year.  Please join me in extending a warm welcome to all our new students, staff members, and families!

Supplies
Those students who ordered SchoolKidz school supply kits will receive them at Meet Your Teacher Day.  If you did not order a SchoolKidz kit you can purchase supplies from this list and have your child bring them to school.

School Lunches
Students will be able to purchase lunch at school this year, and will have access to different lunch choices.  It is important to set up a MySchoolBucks account for the debit system.  More information about My School Bucks can be found at this link: My School Bucks letter

Some families may benefit from accommodations for Free & Reduced Lunch and we have a procedure in place to assist these families.  We have included a link here should your family be interested in this information.  A new application will need to be completed if you are interested in this opportunity.

Meet Your Teacher
On August 30, we will host a Meet Your Teacher visit.  Since the schedule was first communicated, changes have been made with health & safety in mind.
