On Thursday, November 30, the CES community was dazzled by an incredible Cultural Arts Assembly. "Magic into the Deaf World” was a mystifying and amazing inspirational journey into the world of the Deaf.
Fifth-grade scientists participated in an owl pellet dissection. They collaborated to identify the contents of the pellet and create a food web model.
First graders at Coleytown are learning about their communities. They visited the Westport Fire Station and learned how the fire department helps this community. Members of the police department visited CES and introduced the students to their K-9 unit. They talked about how they help to keep Westport safe.
Coleytown Elementary School held its annual Veterans Day assembly. Their new SSO, Officer Dennis Broderick, was their surprise guest speaker. Officer Dennis is a veteran of the United States Army. He spoke with the students about his experiences in the Army, what he learned in this role, and why it is important to celebrate Veterans Day.
The CES students created amazing pumpkins for our annual pumpkin contest.
On Friday, October 13, the CES community participated in a Run for a Reason fundraiser. CES students, staff, and families, in collaboration with the Westport Fire Department, ran at recess to support a breast cancer foundation. It was a beautiful day for a wonderful cause!
